This course is interactive and fun and includes games, exercises and discussion. Participants will learn kanban concepts while practicing them using a kanban Canvas.
The kanban Canvas is designed to be printed on A0 paper and used to collaboratively explore the model when designing a kanban system. Karl Scotland uses the kanban canvas as the core of this two day workshop. It is used to facilitate the collaborative co-creation of a kanban system. The canvas becomes a single, simple artefact which captures a common understanding of how a system is designed, and why it is designed the way it is.

Kanban is one of the most popular frameworks used in Agile today. Most Agile courses (including PMI) focus on Agile and Agility, whereas this course is specific to the kanban framework used in Agile.
The kanban course does not cover SCRUM specifically. The frameworks are however aligned as it is based on the same Agile principles and values. SCRUM and kanban can be combined to form an Agile framework specific to your environment. Agile Coaching is a vital part in customising an Agile framework to work for your unique environment and unique challenges.
The Scaled Agile Framework is a brilliant and detailed framework referred to when Agile is used in larger organisations. SAFe is a good framework to understand since it adds a few additional roles and ceremonies to kanban and SCRUM, forming a framework that can scale for large teams and organisations. If you are looking for answers to scaling an Agile implementation or Agile for larger cross-functional teams, SAFe is a good course to consider.
The kanban framework also has scaling options for instance by introducing SCRUM-of-SCRUM ceremonies or by looking into due track SCRUM.
The core idea of Lean is to maximise customer value while minimising waste. All Agile Frameworks (including SCRUM and kanban) are based on the Lean principle with regards to value-driven focus and minimising any waste. Lean is more focused on the mindset and thinking which overlaps brilliantly with any Agile framework as both are based on the same principles and values.
Project Managers can certainly benefit from Agile training as well as training in the most popular frameworks, SCRUM and kanban. Project Managers can specifically benefit from the mindset changes required to excel in Agile.
